Non-food consumables –
Suncream (Boots Soltan), nappies, nappy bags and cotton wool for nappy changing. These are the non-food consumables included within the voluntary non-food consumable charge.
Activity charges –
Optional special festivals and celebration activities involving additional resources or external providers; optional extracurricular activities delivered in addition to our core EYFS provision; graduation events; and animal encounters delivered by visiting providers alongside events such as our Outdoor Classroom Day celebration – a special event linked to the global movement celebrating and inspiring outdoor play and learning. This is additional to our everyday outdoor learning and EYFS provision and includes specially arranged activities, experiences and resources. Regular outdoor learning, including our usual use of the outdoor environment, forms part of our core EYFS provision and is not dependent on payment of the activity charge.
Stretched funding model –
For children accessing the Working Parent Entitlement over 50 weeks, Nursery Rhymes offers a stretched pattern of 22.8 funded hours per week (1,140 hours across 50 weeks).
Families may access this as two full 10-hour funded days, plus a further funded session of 2 hours 48 minutes on Friday from 1:00pm to 3:48pm. This enables families to access the full stretched entitlement without being required to purchase additional private childcare hours.
Alternatively, where a family voluntarily books an additional day or session, the remaining 2 hours 48 minutes of funded entitlement may be used as a continuous funded block within that booking. Any hours attended beyond the funded 2 hours 48 minutes will be charged at the normal private hourly rate. Purchasing these additional private hours is optional and is not a condition of accessing the funded entitlement.
Families who only wish to attend two full 10-hour days may access 20 funded hours per week. Over 50 weeks this uses 1,000 funded hours. Families wishing to access their full stretched entitlement can use the additional Friday funded session or another agreed funded pattern offered by the nursery.
Funded attendance patterns must be agreed in advance and will be offered consistently, subject to the nursery having an available place within the requested attendance pattern. Funded hours will be provided in continuous blocks and will not contain artificial breaks for privately paid hours.
Invoices will clearly show the funded hours being accessed and separately identify any optional privately paid hours and voluntary consumable or activity charges.
We require a £100 deposit to secure a place upon booking. For families accessing funded-only hours, this deposit will be fully refunded within the first term and is not a charge for accessing the funded entitlement. Where families voluntarily book hours above their funded entitlement, the terms and conditions in our Childcare Agreement will apply.
Parents who opt out of food consumable charges may provide suitable food from home in accordance with our Packed Lunch Policy. Homemade food and food supplied in reusable containers is permitted. Where reasonably required to manage an identified allergy risk, parents may be asked to provide sufficient ingredient and allergen information.
Families opting out of non-food consumable charges may provide the relevant items in accordance with our policies. Opting out of any voluntary charge will not prevent a child from accessing their funded place or the same quality of core EYFS provision.
